Lady Jackets win season debut 14-2

Despite freezing temperatures that dipped into the 20s, the Lady Jackets heated up the diamond in Friday’s season opener with a 14 - 2 victory over Highlands.

Jackets drop season opener 7-0 to Union Co.

It was definitely not baseball weather for the Jackets’ season opener in Union County, Ga. Friday night and it appeared the frigid temperature kept Hayesville frozen at home plate. The Jacket fielders got warmed up in the final innings, but it was too late to overcome the deficit.

Mite boys win SMC championship

The 2009-2010 Hayesville Mite boys are (front row, from left) Zach Hyatt, Trey Anderson, Josh Harris, Adam Beal, Kyle Rhinehardt and Dillon Brown (second row) Blake Collins, Carl Byxbee, Zach Cottrell, Coach Ronnie Foster, Braxton Cox, Dalton Padgett, Bryce Clapsaddle and Tyler Lee. The team won the Thanksgiving tournament at the Hayesville-Ranger Christmas tournament; Andrews Christmas tournament; SMC regular season champions; SMC tournament champions for 2009-2010. They outscored their opponents 932 - 337, posting a 18 - 0 record.
