This Saturday is the Christmas parade and everyone is excited to see what it will contain this year.

Parades can make great memories with many photo opportunities. They are a fun way to get out with your family and friends and enjoy the magic of Christmas. It is always best to plan ahead when attending this type of event. If you have children, they may become restless if you arrive too early before the parade starts. You can always bring books, toys, coloring sheets etc. to keep them occupied until the parade begins. Who doesn’t love snacks? Bringing snacks to enjoy is not only a good idea for the little ones, but for the grownups as well.

Check the weather forecast ahead of time to better prepare yourself for weather conditions.

Don’t forget your seats.

Depending on where you park to watch the parade, bringing a chair may be a good idea.

Watch children at all times while the parade is in session. Children tend to see candy and run, not remembering to look first. The drivers cannot always see little ones running towards their vehicle. Remind your children to wait until the float passes before grabbing the candy from the ground. Don’t forget a bag to put all of that candy in. Once all of the fun festivities are over, walk in a mannerly fashion back to your vehicles. With our small town, leaving this event can be hectic, so remember to be patient and always watch for pedestrians.
