Class of 2017 small, but smart
The 2017 graduating class of Hayesville High School may be a small class with only 71 people, but those graduates have big plans. The graduating class earned more than a million dollars in scholarship and grant money and 61 grads plan to attend college. Tri County Community College will get the largest number of Hayesville grads with 19 choosing to continue their education there while Western Carolina University will have the next largest group, with ten. Five will attend Young Harris College, four will go to Haywood Community College, three to Southwestern Community College and two each to Wingate University, Mars Hill University and Caldwell Community College. Fourteen other colleges will each have one Hayesville graduate.
