Fugitive Robert Allen sought
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is looking for Robert James Allen who is wanted on charges of felony obtaining property by false pretense and writing a worthless check on a closed account. He also has similar charges in Cherokee County, N.C., Georgia and Oklahoma, according to a press release from Captain Josh Litchfield.
Allen has allegedly gone into at least two businesses in Clay County and written checks on a closed account. He is 59 years old, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighs approximately 245 pounds and has brown eyes, according to the sheriff's office.
He may be driving a 2001-2007 model Dodge Caravan, light blue in color, with a Georgia handicap tag.
If you see him or if he comes into your business trying to pay with a check, the sheriff's office advises not to accept it and call them at 389-6354. "Also call if you believe he has already passed a check at your business," Litchfield said.
