For more than 30 years, Janice Patterson has been Clay County’s Director of Public Health. However, the era of seeing Patterson’s shy smile representing the Clay County Health Department at community events or at the facility will officially come to an end Sunday, Dec. 31.
Patterson will retire to pursue new adventures. She plans to travel with her new husband, Jimmie Boone, whom she calls her best friend. “I knew I was going to retire, but did not realize how many changes would happen at once. I’m blessed to be moving forward with my life. Jimmie’s going to teach me to golf,” she said during an interview on Monday.
