Political signs an issue?

Council begins mulling what to allow on the courthouse lawn

 Hayesville’s crown jewel. Fewer than 90 days remain until the projected completion date when the historic courthouse springs back to life in full-blown splendor. 

Several thorny issues remain and the Hayesville Town Council tackled one of them at its meeting Monday evening. Will signage be permitted on the courthouse grounds? If so, what type and for how long? Will temporary signs detract from the pristine building? Should all signs be regulated, and if so, how? 

The questions could become even more pressing during a political season. Should campaign signs be allowed on the square through the May primary and November election? If so, how quickly should they come down?
