The veterans’ room at the Historic Hayesville, Inc. Centennial Exhibit is one of six in western North Carolina honoring generations of soldiers and is open to the public each week from March through December.

Quilt squares to honor veterans

In recognition of Veterans Day, Friends of Historic Hayesville volunteers invite former and current military families to visit the Centennial Exhibit from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10 or Saturday, Nov. 11 for refreshments and exclusive opportunity to honor those who have served in the military. Shortly after the Veterans room was set up by FOHH volunteers in partnership with Allison Bristol VFW Post 6812 and George Lee American Legion Post 532, local quilters announced they would make a signature quilt to remain on display in Clay County.
