Trick or Treat returns to the town square

After a couple of year’s hiatus, Halloween Trick or Treating will return to the downtown square this year. Wednesday, Oct. 31, the streets around the downtown historic courthouse will be blocked off after early voting stops at 5 p.m. Once the streets are closed, trick or treating can begin approximately at 5:30-7 p.m. Any business or non-profit organization is welcome to set up a table on any of the streets and put out a sign giving recognition to your organization as you hand out treats. The Town of Hayesville is sponsoring this event for the first time. We appreciate the many years that the Chamber of Commerce has organized this activity. Bear with us as we learn the ropes in this transition. If your business/organization/church want to join in the fun, let town hall know at (828) 389-1862 and leave us a message. There is no charge to participate. Just bring a table and lots of treats.
