County manager to oversee new school project

The Clay County Board of Commissioners, meeting in special session Monday evening, expressed frustration at the slow pace of the new primary school project now that a grant to fund it is in place.
They voted to appoint Clay County Manager Mark Pullium as project manager to work with the school board in seeing that the project moves forward in a timely manner.
Monday evening’s commission meeting in the courthouse multipurpose room was attended only by the five commissioners, the county manager, the county attorney and the press. The meeting was for the purpose of trying to move forward on the school project because, as Chairman Robert Penland said, “Time is money.”
