Special thanks from Annie Lloyd, family

Thanks for all the support of the fire department, Red Cross and members of Shiloh Baptist Church for giving me and my family a place to stay after the fire. A special thanks to Charlie Cheeks who didn’t leave until we did. There are so many other names I will not say because I don’t want to leave anyone out. This has been a hard and devastating time, but the love from all of you has been a blessing. I knew I was liked by the people in the county, but I didn’t know that I was loved this much. From the bottom of my heart I would like to say thank you and I love all of you. Also, to the many members of our extended families, thank you for your love and support. - Annie Lloyd and family

That was a great article by James F. Davis

No truer words ever spoken. My family came to the North Carolina Mountains in 1761 to an area known as Sunnyside between Franklin and Highlands, N.C. We have a mountain and a road named after us. My great great grandfather fought for the south in the war Lincoln created. His name was Kenchen Mincey. He was captured and sent to prison at Point Lookout, Md., where he died of cold and starvation. Davis did not tell about Lincoln sending troops to take the Native American Cherokee off their own land. That turned into the Trail of Tears, no words would describe it. Many died on the route, Lincoln was a very bad President. - Bob Mincey
