Resident accused of sexual activity with student
A former teacher and coach at Andrews High School was indicted Monday on charges that she allegedly had a sexual relationship with one of her students.
Kayla Alayne Sprinkles, 26, of Hayesville, was indicted on five counts of sexual activity with a student by a Cherokee County grand jury, court documents show. Sprinkles taught at Andrews High for the 2016-17 school year, also coaching softball and cross country.
The dates of the five counts show that the relationship allegedly took place from around December 2016 to April 2017. Sprinkles had not been taken into custody as of the Andrews Journal’s press time Wednesday.
