Anna Mae Martin Jones

 Anna Mae Martin Jones, 80, of Mease Lane in Hayesville,  joined her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016.
Ann was born on April 19, 1936, in Union County, Ga., to Carl Stokely and Madie Mae Mease Martin. She worked in the textile industry and was a homemaker who loved nothing more than creating an inviting home for family and friends. A true “mountain granny,” Ann loved being surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who visited each Sunday for dinner in what she affectionately referred to as “Hootie Hollar.” Ann was a member of Meadow Grove Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and spent each day in His Word.
She is preceded in death by the love of her life Willie Andrew Jones; brothers Zeb, Harold and Ray Martin; sisters Dorothy Lewis, Fay Martin, Mary Bragg and Ruth Daniels; and daughters-in-law Joey Jones and Wanda Jones.
She is survived by children Diann Buckner and husband, Joe, Debra Burch and husband Eddie, Danny Jones and wife, Bobbie, and Kim Jones, all of Hayesville and Theresa Waldroup and husband, Dean, of Young Harris; brothers Stokely  and R.L. Martin, both of Blairsville; sister Henrietta Ledford, of Hayesville; grandchildren Joey Buckner, Jerry “Dustan” Buckner and wife, Amy, Jason Buckner and wife, Kim, Jeremy “Moe” Buckner and wife, Fonda, Joshua Jones and wife, Amber, Matthew Waldroup and wife, LeAnn, Shawnda Smith and husband, Joshua “Tennessee,” Daniel Jones and wife, Molly, Rebecca and Nick Jones, Kasey, Tori and Abby Combs; great-grandchildren Morgan Waldroup, Bryce, Jocelin, Taylor, Anna Isabella “Izzie,” Mason, Elias, and Luke Buckner, Emma Jackson Lance, Ava Smith, Ada, Gage, Danner and Max Jones, Noah Smith and William Waldroup; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends, all of whom she adored.
Honoring their grandmother as pallbearers were Joey, Dustan, Jason and Moe Buckner, Matthew Waldroup, Joshua, Daniel and Nick Jones.
The family received friends from 5-9 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 29 at Meadow Grove Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 30 also at Meadow Grove Baptist Church with Reverends’ Arnold Brown and Israel Rogers officiating. Interment was held at the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Meadow Grove Baptist Cemetery fund 19 Meadow Grove Lane, Hayesville, NC 28904.
