Anna Mae Patton
Anna Mae Patton, 76, of Hayesville, passed away Friday, May 3, 2019 at the Murphy Rehab and Nursing Home.
She was a native of Towns County, Ga. but lived her entire life in Clay County. She was the daughter of the late Garten and Flo Gribble Chastain Allen. Anna was a homemaker. She loved gardening, quilting and visiting with others. Anna was a member of the Sweetwater Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Ralph Patton; one infant son, Benjamin Patton; two brothers, Jack Allen and Isaac Allen.
She is survived by one son, David Patton and wife, Terry, of Hayesville; two daughters, Patricia Wells and Judy Gentle and husband, Scott, of Hayesville; one sister, Susie Owens; grandchildren, McKensie Gentle and wife, Amanda, Ryan, Megan, Spence and Levi Gentle; great-grandchildren, Kalab, Cristina, Amelia, Toby, Henry and Andy Gentle; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 7 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville. Rev. Kyle Cody and Rev. Wayne Matheson officiated. Music was provided by the Cody family and Betty Patton. Burial was in the Hayesville First United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Larry Bryson, Vane and R.L. Gunter and grandsons. Caleb Gentle was an honorary pallbearer.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 6 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville.
