Birdell Allison, 78, of Hayesville passed away Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017 in a Murphy hospital. She was a native and lifetime resident of Clay County. She was a faithful homemaker and helped on the farm. Birdell was a member of the Moss Memorial Baptist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Paul James and Lillie Mae Stroud Allison. She was also preceded in death by three daughters, Rebecca, Diane and Cathy.
Surviving are her husband of almost 62 years, Loy Allison; a daughter, Deborah Hunnicutt and husband, Ricky of Tignall, Ga.; two sons, Harold Allison and wife, Jackie of Young Harris and James Allison of Hayesville; four grandchildren, Shelly Ramirez and husband, David, Stephanie Biddle and husband, Geno, Travis Hunnicutt and wife, Lauren and Lindsey Allison Waldroup; and 12 great-grandchildren, Kai, Lilly and Cole Ramirez, Keaten Dodd, Kaden and Raelyn Biddle and Thomas, Evan, Brooke, Noah, Ella and Adalynn Hunnicutt.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville where Rev. Travis Hunnicutt and Reggie Hooper officiated. The interment was in the Moss Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers were Geno Biddle, David Ramirez, David McClure, Steve Allison, Donald Lingerfelt and Robert Duvall. Honorary pallbearers will be Keaten Dodd, Kai Ramirez and Kaden Biddle.
The family received friends from 1 to 2:45 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville prior to the services.
