Martha Lockaby, 67, of Hayesville, died Monday, Feb. 29, 2016 in a Chattanooga, Tenn. hospital. She had lived in Clay and Cherokee counties for most of her life. Martha worked for Levi’s and OMC for several years, but was owner and operator of MJ Lawn Care for the past 18 years. She was a member of the Canyon Road Baptist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Hollis J. “Bud” and Jean Marcus Wright. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Wright.
Surviving are a daughter, Sonja Totherow and husband, Chris, of Murphy; two sisters, Sheryl Harris and Joann Goodman, both of Hayesville; three grandchildren, Brittany, Brooklyn and Christian Totherow; a great-granddaughter, Isabella Jeanise Huskins; and her companion of 14 years, Wayne D. Hogsed.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with the Rev. Steve West officiating. The interment was in the Hayesville First United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ronald Ware, Brandon Shook, Phillip and Jackie Wright and Mike and Garren Hogsed.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville.
