Peggy Ann Worley
Peggy Ann Worley, 83, of Hayesville, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2017 in a Hayesville care facility. She was a native and lifetime resident of Clay County. Peggy was a homemaker and worked for many years with the Southwestern Child Development at the Hayesville First United Methodist Church. She was a member of Hayesville Church of God where she taught Sunday School.
She was the daughter of the late Robert Nelson and Mary Wimpey Mease. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Faye Brown, Pansy White, Jane Cunningham and Rodney Bristol; two brothers, Paul and Ray Mease.
Surviving are three daughters, Denise Nelson and husband, Tim, and Cindy Worley, all of Hayesville, and Gail Owenby and husband, Larry, of Young Harris, Ga.; a sister, Sarah Mease, of Hayesville; and seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with Revs. Mitchell Totherow and Israel Rogers officiating. The interment will be in Hayesville First United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Doug and Ricky Bristol, Larry and Bentley Mease, Ed Ashe and Elliott Arrowood.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13 at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville.
