Rosetta Berrong

Surrounded by family, Rosetta peacefully went to be with her Lord on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017. She celebrated her 97th birthday just a few weeks prior. She was the daughter of Ivory Everett and Lillie Mae Ledford Hall.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Eldire Berrong, who died Dec. 28, 1999; and a son, Frank Weldon Berrong.
Surviving are three daughters, Betty Gladson, of Murphy, Marilyn Bailey, of Hayesville and Teresa McClure and husband, Dwight, of Hayesville; a brother, James Ray Hall, of Ravenna, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Lois Kay Berrong, of Winder, Ga. She loved and was greatly loved by her four grandchildren, Sharon Stiles, Shelley Berrong, Stacey Berrong, and deceased grandson, David Gladson; three step-grandchildren, Scott, Tyler and Whitney McClure; two great-grandchildren, Candie Shahlaie and Tiffany Barber; and four great-great-grandchildren, Maddox Falconer, Emma and Griffin Barber and Adel Shahlaie; as well as many other nieces and nephews.
She worked as a seamstress in her younger working days and liked keeping busy and working with her hands. Using her talents, she spent many enjoyable hours making quilts and other crafts and loved sharing that passion with her family and others by gifting her creations or teaching others if they were interested.
Her quiet, gentle, sweet spirit and smile will be missed by all that knew her but she will be remembered by her love and care she so freely gave to family and friends.
Many thanks to Good Shepherd Home Health and Hospice and Western Carolina Home Health for the compassionate care given during her period of declining health.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12 with a time of visitation with family and friends from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to the service which will be held at Hillcrest Assembly of God, 1006 Highway 64 West, Hayesville. The Rev. Aline Mosteller and Rev. Randy Segers will officiate. The interment will follow at the Hayesville First United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and special friends, Dwight McClure, Jimmy Ledford, Chester Ford, Billy Haney, Gene Miller and Danny Hall.
In honor of her efforts to live out her faith, the family respectfully requests that memorials be given to Gideons International to aid them in their mission and ministry of placing Bibles throughout the world by sending to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 164, Murphy, NC 28906.
