Wayne Allison, 66, of Hayesville, passed away Monday, April 30, 2018 in Fulton County, Ga.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County and the son of the late Sam and Maude Stroud Allison. Wayne was retired from Baker Furniture as a shipping clerk.
He was of the Baptist faith. Wayne enjoyed farming.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Monroe and Clifford Allison; two sisters, Roberta Ashe and Lou Jean Cheek; and one nephew, Samuel L. Allison.
He is survived by two brothers, Willis Allison and wife, Dorothy, and Donald Allison and wife, Merlene; one sister, Sarah Cabe and companion, Steve Millwood; and his honorary grandchild, Caden Reid; nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 5, at the Oak View Baptist Church. Reverends Steve Cothren and R Doug Godfrey will officiate.
Music will be provided by Steve and Bonnie Lyvers.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Matthew, Jeffery and Billy Allison, Preston Cabe, Hub and Glen Cheeks, Ryan Prather and Jason Belcher. Honorary pallbearers are Nick and Kim Jones, Zachary Prather and Sam Allison.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, May 4 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville where the body will remain until being placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service hour.
