William Henry Anderson

William Henry Anderson, 84, of Brasstown, passed away, Oct. 2, 2022. He served in the United States Army as a tank operator during the Cuban Missile Crisis. William was a licensed electrician and licensed contractor/builder, working in construction his whole life.

Mr. James ‘Jim’ Kenneth Conlisk

Mr. James ‘Jim’ Kenneth Conlisk, 79, of Hayesville, passed away at his home on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022 following an extended illness. Jim was born on Oct. 23, 1942 in Chicago, Ill. to the late Kenneth Conlisk and the late Virginia Dudley Conlisk. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran.

Willa Mae Long

Willa Mae Long, 82, of Hayesville, passed away Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022 surrounded by family. Willa Mae, known primarily as mama, nanny and Willie spent 69 years of her life focused on being a wife, mother and grandmother.

Jack H. Thrasher

Jack H. Thrasher, 74, of Hayesville, passed away Monday, Sept. 26, 2022 in a Murphy care facility. The interment will be held at a later date at the Air Force Academy Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colo. Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville: www.iviefuneralhome.com is in charge of arrangements.

Les Keller

Les Keller, 77, is a beautiful man who loves Jesus and he loves and cherishes his wife, Des. Les and Des have lived in Hayesville for more than 10 years where they provide computer services through their company, “Ask Us computer Services.” Des will continue this service.

Wade Brendle

Wade Brendle, 68, of Murphy, passed away Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022 at his residence, surrounded by family. He was a native of Clay County but had been living in Murphy for the past 39 years. He was a 1972 graduate of Hayesville High School. Wade began his career working at the pallet factory in Murphy.

Martha Rainwater Buffington

Martha Rainwater Buffington passed away, unexpectedly, at her home in Hayesville on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022. Born in Louisville, Ky. and raised in Baton Rouge, La., she made the mountains her home since 2001.

Gerald Tighe

Joyce Ann Myers

On the evening of Sept. 4, 2022, Joyce Ann Myers, 73, passed away peacefully at her home in Warne. Joyce was born in 1949 to Leslie M. and Helen L. Ledford. She married Michael Olen Myers. Joyce is preceded in death by her father, Leslie, her mother, Helen, and her husband, Michael.

Joel Kenneth Mayo

Joel Kenneth Mayo, 73, of Hayesville, formerly of Conyers, Ga. passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022 in a Gainesville, Ga. hospital. Joel lived in Conyers for 36 years and served as Chief Probation Officer for the State of Georgia in Clayton County.
