Big thanks to ‘2016 Big Sweep’ volunteers

Thanks to the support of many, it was a pleasure to be part of the 2016 Hiawassee Lake “Big Sweep” event and to meet the many people that have either over-the-years or for the first time, made this event possible.
If it weren’t for the Asheville GreenWorks organization, this event wouldn’t have happened, for they not only provided the insurance protection for the volunteers, they provided a very energetic Eric Bradford. Bradford was in and out of the water and demonstrated the leadership needed to keep the “Big Sweep” alive through his Asheville GreenWorks organization. Thank you Bradford.
Mike Webb, owner of Duke’s Hideaway Marina, has routinely provided many of the pontoon boats that are required to transport the thousands of pounds of trash tossed into our recreational waterways. Webb needs to know that his efforts are greatly appreciated and without his help, “Big Sweep” wouldn’t happen.
