Proposed RV resort a bad idea for our area
In my 71 years of life on this planet, I have never written a letter to the editor of a newspaper. However, I am compelled to do so at this time in order to make known to your readers my opinion regarding the proposed RV campground along the banks of the Hiwassee River, which I’m totally opposed to.
Having grown up in a small town in Florida, I was attracted to Hayesville in large part because of the “small town U.S.A.” atmosphere. The proposed campsite will be detrimental to maintaining this atmosphere. Additionally, we do not have the infrastructure in place to be able to handle the additional burdens that will be placed upon our current resources, including but certainly not limited to the additional traffic demands that a 103 campsites will entail. Twenty or thirty campsites? Acceptable. 103 campsites? Totally unacceptable.
Thank you for your consideration of my thoughts.
