Oliver returns to victory lane at Tri County
The late spring sun coated the hilltops of Brasstown on Friday, June 16 and welcomed racing fans to Tri County Racetrack for another night of dirt slinging action. Track promoter Ray Cook added to the excitement with an increased purse in two divisions. After time trials and qualifying heat races, the Street Stock drivers rolled from staging for the first feature of the night. Jim Twiggs and Charles Devine Jr. battled hard on the opening lap. The action got a little too close in turns three and four when the two made contact. The collision caused Devine to spin and bring out the caution which forced him to forfeit his position and restart at the tail of the field.
