The Clay County Progress office lobby will be temporarily closed to the public.
The Progress will remain open for business and customers can call 389-8431 or email for advertising, news, subscriptions, classifieds and legal notices.
“It’s always a difficult decision to close to the public because of course that is who we serve, but as we walk through this pandemic together, it is important we do what is necessary to protect each other as a community,” said Publisher Becky Long.
“I think our health officials have it right when they urge people to stay home while in quarantine or while waiting for test results,” said Long. “Going out in public during these times puts many people at risk and the ripple effect can have devastating consequences. If we act responsibly and take the necessary steps, we can get through this much faster and with fewer loss of lives.”
