Barbara Thompson Shore, 72, was born on March 22, 1949. She passed away Feb. 13, 2022 from a long battle with kidney and liver disease.

Barbara was born in Sylva, N.C. and grew up in Murphy, N.C. She attended Murphy High School and Young Harris College before a career in banking in Atlanta, Ga. That is where she met the love of her life, Steve Shore. She also lived in St. Louis, Mo.; Southlake, Texas and recently Frisco, Texas.

Barbara had many hobbies including ceramics, crafting, scrap booking, traveling and shopping. While her children were young, she served in the PTA and was a constant volunteer at their school. She was also a huge sports fan and had a passion for football.

She will always be remembered for devoting her entire life to taking care of others. Her love for family and friends were what defined her as a person. She would do anything to help someone else in need.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Steve Shore; daughter, Stephanie Shore; parents John and Docia Thompson; and sister Wanda Thompson.

Barbara was survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Anna Shore of Celina, Texas; grandchildren, Carter and Sophie Shore, of Celina; brother, Tom Thompson, of Savannah, Ga.; brother-in law, David Shore, of Alpharetta, Ga.; sister in-law, Katie Spayd, of Watkinsville, Ga; five nieces, one nephew and many cousins.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19  at the First United Methodist Church in Celina.
