Betty Lou Roberts Cato, 87, passed away Friday, Jan. 28, 2022 at Murphy Rehab and Nursing in Murphy, N.C.
She was the daughter of the late Rupert Earl and Helen Baltzell Roberts. She worked in retail sales and was a real estate broker. She also taught Sunday School and enjoyed spending time with her friends, often at the luncheon table of a favorite restaurant.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Guymon Cato Jr.; a son, Donald Lynn Cato and a brother, Earl Rupert Roberts.
She is survived by her son, Cary Paul Cato, and wife, Linda, of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; a daughter, Karen Barrett, of Aiken, S.C.; three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville with Rev. Robert Seibert officiating. Interment was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
