David Edward “Buck” Dyer, 81, of Hayesville, formerly of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021 at his residence. He was a native of Clay County, but lived most of his adult life in Dalton. David spent his life working in carpet manufacturing until he was no longer able to work. David was a NASCAR fan, enjoyed old westerns, and going fishing.

He was the son of the late Henry and Nola West Dyer and husband of the late Frances Hedden Dyer, who died October 4, 2015. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Geneva Worley, Lorene Monkus, and Bessie Ashe; and three brothers, Carl, Willard, and Johnny Dyer.

Surviving are a son, Clark “Eddie” Dyer of Hayesville; a daughter, Sonja Silvers and husband, Larry of Hayesville; four sisters, Frances Anderson and Nancy Hedden, both of Dalton, and Mildred Wood and Delores Gutherie, both of Murphy; four grandchildren, Missy Johnson and husband, Brad, Mandy Lowe and husband, Matthew, Melody Morgan and husband, Michael, and A.J. Silvers and wife, Christine; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, December 20, 2021 at Dunnagan Cemetery in Rocky Face, Georgia.
