Edward William Wentzel, 88, of Hayesville and Old Myakka, Fla., passed away on May 1, 2021. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on Dec. 25, 1932. He served time in the U.S. Navy, Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1956. He worked as a mechanical contractor and in sales of heating and air conditioning all his life.

He is survived by his wife Lois Ann Wentzel of 63 years; son David E. Wentzel of Old Myakka, Fla.; daughter Catherine Ann Hickmon of Venice, Fla.; son James Steven Wentzel of Pahrump, Nev.; and daughter Debbie Kay White of Sarasota, Fla.; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was a member of Hayesville Tractor Club, a 60 year member of the Masonic Lodge #31 in Bradenton, Fla.; Sahib Shrine Temple, Sarasota, Fla.; and VFW Post #7807, Hiawassee, Ga.

A private celebration will be held with family with Rev. Dr. William Breedlove officiating.
