James Robert Cherry, 74, of Hayesville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sept. 29, 2021.
“Bud,” as he was more commonly known, was born on May 12, 1947, to the late Pearl and Margie Cherry. He was a simple, yet steadfast faithful man, who enjoyed gardening and took great pride in his elaborate gardens, for they were always methodically laid out, meticulously manicured and always produced a bountiful harvest.
Bud enjoyed spending time with his beloved family and often showed his love, with his adept cooking and baking skills. One would often find him, enjoying his daily breakfast at the local Hardee’s with the other local retirees. Bud was loved by all that knew him and will be sorely missed.
His is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Betty Cherry. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his siblings: Marie (Rex) Ledford; Pat (Ken) Rogers; Roberta (Fain) Ledford and Susan (Cecil) Dye, as well as a loving host of family and friends.
Bud will be laid to rest in a private service, in the family cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to The Child Nutrition Department: Attn. Jenny Bethel, 154 Yellow Jacket Drive Hayesville, North Carolina 28904
