Louise Kitchens Scroggs, 92, of Hayesville, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County. She was the daughter of the late Gorman and Ethel Ashe Kitchens. Louise worked as a seamstress for Hayesville Manufacturing for 20 years. Louise enjoyed working in her flowers, gardening, quilting and crocheting. She enjoyed making quilts for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Louise enjoyed family gatherings, especially the holidays. She was a member of the Shooting Creek Ladies Auxiliary and member of the Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Scroggs; brothers, Otti, Cloe, Tom and Bill Kitchens; one sister, Fannie; and one grandson, Rick Berrong.

She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Leslie and Diane Brasher, both of Hayesville; three grandsons, Jimmy, Barry and Robby Berrong; six great-grandchildren, Mason Berrong, Katelyn Dillard, Austin Berrong, Cole Graves, Levi Martin and Jessica Gibson; and two great-great-grandchildren, Crypton Graves and Lelia Gibson. 

Funeral Service were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 17 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel, of Hayesville. Music was provided by Ray Cook. Rev. Mark Stewart officiated. Burial was in the Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robby, Barry and Jimmy Berrong, Gary Scroggs, Keith and Kelvin Kitchens.

The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. Monday, May 17 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville.
