Marie Moss, 89, of Hayesville, went to be with the Lord on June 4, 2021 at her home surrounded with family following a brief illness.
She was born May 17, 1932 to the late Ernie and Lucille Ledford of Hiawassee, Ga. Marie retired from Levi's after 24 years to become a homemaker. She was an avid gardener and bird watcher; she enjoyed the simple things in life, including her family. Marie loved her family unconditionally and with no boundaries. She had the heart of a servant, always wanting to feed or care for others. You never left her house without being filled with food and love. Marie was truly an amazing woman. Fiercely independent, filled with humility, strength, grace and faith. Her presence in our lives will truly be missed but we will carry a part of her with us always, knowing that she can rest easy in her forever home with family and in the presence of our Lord and Savior.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, W.T. Moss; three children, Terry and Max Moss and Sandra Shook; and a sister, Janet Henderson.
She is survived by a daughter, Karen Ellis. of Hayesville; granddaughter, Melisa (DeLane) Moody; grandsons, Stacy Moss, Joshua (Cindy) Shook, Nathan (Jessica) Ellis, Logan (Ally) Ellis; great grandchildren, Bryce Burch, Hunter Moody, Brian Ellis, Bruce Matheson and Paxton Ellis.
No services are planned at this time except a private family memorial at later date.
