Winifred “Inky” Rogers, 76, of Hayesville was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 14, 2021. She was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County. Inky worked as a secretary at Rowland Hills Dress Factory for several years. She was a loving homemaker to her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was a member of Mission Hill Baptist Church, where she also enjoyed singing in the choir. Her pride and joy were her four granddaughters.

She was the daughter of the late Morris C. and Genevieve Reynolds Hogsed. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jamie Mitchell Rogers.

Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Jimmie Rogers; a daughter, Tina Cantrell and husband, Randall of Mineral Bluff, Georgia; two sons, Stacy Rogers and wife, Paula of Murphy, and Michael Rogers and wife, Chandice of Hayesville; four granddaughters, Ariana, Gabriella, and Alaina Rogers, and Payton Cantrell; three sisters, Shirley Ann Eller and husband, Jerry, Kathy McConnell and husband, Stanley, and Jackie Coffey and husband, Ronnie, all of Hayesville; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Mission Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Stewart and David Anderson officiating. The interment will be in Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cody Eller, Jerrett Coffey, Gary Rogers, Jeff Ledford, Joshua McConnell, and Chad Gunther.  Honorary pallbearer will be Michael Cantrell.

The family will receive friends from 12-1:45 Wednesday afternoon at the Mission Hill Baptist Church prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Winifred “Inky” Rogers to the Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, c/o Phyllis Leslie, 10 Cheetah Lane, Hayesville, NC 28904.
