Roy Mashburn

Roy Mashburn, age 79 of Hayesville, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021 in a Towns County, Georgia hospital.  He was a native and lifetime resident of Clay County, and was a delivery driver for Hayesville Hardware for many years.  Roy was a member of Eagle Fork Baptist Church in Hayesville.

Roy was the son of the late Claude Andrew Mashburn and Lottie Jane McMahan Mashburn.  He was also preceded in death by a great grand-daughter, Raylee Grace Vandewerker.

Roy is survived by his wife of over 44 years, Virginia Anderson Mashburn; two daughters, Rosie Eaton (Tom) of Hayesville, and Lisa Gibson, of Hiawassee, Georgia; two sons, Eugene “Bo” Mashburn (Peggy) of Hayesville, and Darren Mashburn (Stephanie) of Middletown, Ohio; two brothers, Joel Mashburn of Hayesville and Ray Mashburn of Hiawassee, Georgia. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 10, 2021 in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville, with the Reverend Steve Cothren officiating.   Interment was in the Eagle Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family received friends Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville.
