  • Accuses you of things you absolutely have not done.
  • Calls you names.
  • Calls you degrading names.
  • Controls all of your finances.
  • Controls whether you work or not.
  • Isolates you from your family and friends.
  • Makes you feel you are unworthy of any type of happiness.
  • Embarrasses you in front of people.
  • Forces you to have sex or to commit illegal acts.
  • Is jealous of any relationship, including children and your family.
  • Puts you down – as in “you cannot cook,” “you’re ugly, fat."
  • You have to stay with him/her because “no one else would want you."
  • Slaps, punches, hits, kicks you.
  • Threatens to kill you and your children.
  • Threatens suicide.
  • Threatens to call DSS on you or to take your children away from you.
  • Blames you for the beatings as in “if you wouldn’t have caused me to be come angry, I would not have beaten you.”

Please remember, none of the above actions should be happening in your home or to you. Strive for a safe, happy home and environment always. Get away from the person that is doing this to you. Call Reach for more information 828-389-0797.
