The Union County Farmers Market was filled with great hot rods, antiques, classics, rat rods, trucks and special interest vehicles Saturday, Oct.2. More than 100 vehicles participated under partly cloudy skies.
Awards for registered vehicles included a trophy for Best 50’s Classic won by David Schmitt of Hiawassee for his 1955 Chevy Nomad wagon. Bruce Coon of Blue Ridge took home the trophy for Best Classic Truck with his 1949 Ford F-1 pickup. Bill Lyon of Young Harris won Best German Import for his 1969 VW Beetle.
Four Club Choice trophies went to Keith Wagner of Murphy for his1923 T- Bucket Rat Rod. Gary Worden, also of Murphy, took a trophy for his 1941 Cadillac convertible. Hayesville's Buddy Lowe won for his 1955 Ford Fairlanee as did Greg Guelcher of Ellijay for his 1965 Chevy BelAir..
The club thanks all who participated and all who came to view the car show. All proceeds from this event went to Christmas programs for local area children.
