The Hayesville Festival on the Square is back for its 40th year. Kicking off with a two hour concert at 7 p.m. Friday, July 9 features Moe Buckner and Our Way Band. Bring a chair or dance in the street.

Festival hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 10 and Sunday, July 11. The festival is sponsored every year by the Clay County Historic & Arts Council. There is something for everyone, with music and entertainment in the gazebo each day. Since COVID-19 put a damper on gatherings last year, this year’s festival will be more exciting.

More than 70 vendors are eager to share their creativity with visitors and shoppers will find everything from stained glass to wood carving, from quilting, to jewelry to drone photos that look like other-worldly landscapes. Artists will display their works and there will be face-painting.

Bring your appetite for hot dogs, brats, barbecue, elotes — Mexican corn on the cob, — wraps, salad and beans. There will be a dessert tent and a tent for ice cream, plus lots of cold drinks.

Make plans now for a fun day in Hayesville. Face masks are optional. Leave your pets at home.
