On Thursday, August 26, Clay County Fire and Rescue was paged to a structure fire on Qualla Rd around 12:19 p.m. Upon arrival, heavy smoke was apparent from the home. Crews geared up and made entry into the structure.
Once the firefighters had entered the house, they found that the fire was in the back bedroom.
Although the house did suffer from smoke damage, members of Clay County Fire and Rescue were able to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to the remaining parts of the home.
Three engines, one tender, and one rescue truck, along with several members were on scene to help during this event. Everyone was cleared from the scene in a few hours and no injuries occurred.
