The annual Shop Small Shop Local event is more important this year than ever before and local businesses need our help. American Express has an ad campaign promoting Small Business Saturday on Nov. 28 and an additional big day to shop has been added locally. Holiday traditions begin the day after Thanksgiving with promotional sales.
The Historic Hayesville Inc. Centennial Exhibit will open on Friday this year for shoppers to pick up a bag full of information to start early with local businesses open on both days.
Small business owners are welcome to provide fliers, cards or other items promoting their products and locations for shopping bags. Items should be small and delivered to HHI Exhibit by Monday, Nov. 23. Call 828-361-7058 to schedule delivery.
Supplies are limited, but HHI will sponsor free chances to win a gift basket valued over $100 with holiday treasures. Hurry over to 116 Sanderson Street 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, Nov. 27 and Saturday, Nov. 28 to participate and pick up shopping bags with business offerings. Join the promotion and start the day with cider provided by HHI volunteers. Visit: historichayesvilleinc.com to see additional details and how to enter drawing for gift baskets
COVID-19 has presented challenges and altered activities in 2020, but you can still shop safely with masks and social distancing to let local businesses know they have community support. You can also shop on line with curbside pick up at some locations and don’t forget to enjoy food from our local restaurants. Every dollar spent will help our businesses to survive and provide economic impact for our town and county. See information ad in this week’s Clay County Progress and get ready to shop.
