Clay County Communities Revitalization Association’s Friday Summer Concert Series continues at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 20, with Marietta, Ga. based Run Katie Run, making their second visit to the historic Hayesville Square.
Katie Coleman leads a band of six that originated in 2021, immediately capturing the attention of song writing magazines. That led to their being the featured bank at Dollywood’s Harvest Festival where they will return in October.
American Songwriter described the band: “With a unique blend of rock sensibilities and folky textures, the sound of Run Katie Run condenses into a singular force of energy and power, while Adobe & Teardrops simply states Run Katie Run is “straight-ahead folk rock at its finest.” Their songs center around Katie’s powerhouse vocals singing about resilience and handling life’s challenges with a sassy sense of humor.
The 2025 Friday Summer Concert Series, hosted by the CCCRA are free concerts that are made possible through sponsorships of local businesses. Key sponsors again this year are: RE/MAX Town & Country, The Richard Kelley Group, Edward Jones - Financial Advisor Jodi Sullivan and Hwy. 69 Storage Tony Wiegold. Through the hard work of many volunteers and donations to the “red bucket” on concert nights, CCCRA can keep this Hayesville tradition in-tune.
Food and beverages make the concerts perfect for families and friends to enjoy a night out. This Friday, the American Legion Post 532 will roast their crowd-favorite dogs, Hayesville Q will tempt you with smoked, Texas-style barbecue and the Papa Kash Food Truck will roll up with burgers, cheese steaks and Reubens. Shooting Creek Vines will offer locally made wine and Nocturnal Brewing will offer a selection of refreshing brews.
Bring your favorite camp chairs or blankets and claim a good spot on the lawn. The food and beverage service starts at 6 p.m. while the music runs from 7-9 p.m. Free transportation is provided from area parking lots on the “Red Ryder” by Historic Hayesville Inc. In the event of inclement weather check the website: https://www.cccra-nc.org/, or Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/cccranc for updates.
