Over the past five months investigators from the Towns County Sheriff’s Office, Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Union County Sheriff's Office and Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office have been targeting the large-scale distribution of methamphetamine by two residents of Hayesville.
Kimberly Jo Allison, 42, of Hayesville and James Brandon Taylor, 30, of Hayesville were the specific targets of this multi-county investigation.
On Saturday, Aug. 2, as a result of the great work by Towns County Investigators, Allison and Taylor were caught with more than six ounces of methamphetamine. After these arrests, Towns County Investigators immediately called their Clay County partners with details of their seizures. Based on the specifics provided by Towns County Investigators, a search warrant was prepared for Allison and Taylor’s residence at 953 Town Mountain Road in Hayesville. A search of this residence yielded approximately eight ounces of methamphetamine and three firearms. Allison and Taylor were arrested in Towns County for a myriad of serious drug and weapon violations. Both individuals will also be charged in Clay County, as it relates to the search of their residence.
These future Clay County weapons and high-level drug trafficking charges will mandate significant prison time for Allison and Taylor. We thank the great work of the Towns County Officers who were able to finally break open this significant drug trafficking operation. In our tri-county area, those involved in the distribution of illegal drugs know no jurisdictional boundaries. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is proud to have a great working relationship with all of our neighboring law enforcement agencies.
