Veteran Jack Greve salutes during the National Anthem. Greve is among the Clay County residents who gathered Wednesday morning to honor the victims and heroes of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorists attacks that left 2, 996 people dead. The “Patriots Day” ceremony was held on the grounds of the sheriff’s office to remember the deceased and honor law enforcement, military and emergency personnel who responded to the call then and continue to do so today. The event included a welcome from Sheriff Mark Buchanan, prayer from Chief Investigator Todd Wingate, Pledge of Allegiance from Lt. Bruce Moore, singing of the National Anthem by Savannah May and keynote speaker veteran Phil Cantley.
