Barbara Penland was honored by family and friends with an 80th birthday party on Feb. 21. The party was held at the Shooting Creek Fire Department. Her birthday was Feb. 24. Family members joining Barbara in the celebration included her son Brian and daughter-in-law, Lisa Penland; husband, “Sid,” with Barbara; daughter-in-law Rosie and son, Jeff Penland.
