This is to advise that beginning Thursday, April 3 Myers Chapel Road will be closed to through traffic. The closure is necessary for the construction of Bridge #88 over Hyatt Mill Creek just south of Swaims Road. This closure will be in place until approximately March 1, 2026.
The detour routes for local traffic to the south of bridge 88 will be to take US 64 West to the intersection of US 64 and NC 69 then take NC 69 South approximately 2.6 miles to the intersection of NC 69 and Myers Chapel Road. All local traffic to the north of bridge 88 will maintain access as normal. Road closure barricades will be placed at the intersections of Myers Chapel Road and US 64, Swaims Road and NC 69, Barnard Road and NC 69 and Myers Chapel Road and NC 69. Detour signs will be in place for non-local traffic to follow.
The Department apologizes for any inconvenience this road closure and detour may create for the residents and commuters in this area of Clay County.
