Clay County Board of Elections is experiencing a steady flow in early voting. As of 12 p.m. Wednesday, 1,070 people already cast a ballot in this year’s election.

Elections Board Director Rebecca Hall said the busiest times so far have been between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Hall described early voting as going well. “It has been very good,” she said. “A good turn out and everything has gone smoothly.”

If you missed the registration deadline, you can register during early voting.

“Anyone can still register during one stop with proof of ID and residency until Saturday, Nov. 5,” Hall said.

“We also offer curbside voting (voting in the car) if because of age or physical disability you can not enter the voting enclosure. Just pull into one of the two spots out front and ring the bell and someone will come out to help you,” said Hall.

During one-stop residents may vote from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the one Saturday it is open, Nov. 5.

The Elections Board office is located on the far right side of the lower level of the Community Services Building, across from the library in Hayesville.
