Wanda Cotton
Wednesday, June 10 brought yet another day of sadness and heartbreak to the Clay County community. Out of respect for the family and their privacy during this difficult time, only limited information is being released at this time.
We can confirm that family has been notified and local resident Wanda Cotton lost her life. Wanda was the owner of Part City Auto Parts and was a well-known and beloved member of the Hayesville and Clay County community.
Throughout the years, Wanda generously supported and participated in countless community events, including the annual Christmas Parade, Halloween on the Square, and many other local celebrations and activities. Her presence, kindness, and dedication to the community touched the lives of many, and her contributions will not be forgotten.
As friends, family, customers, and neighbors come to terms with this tremendous loss, Wanda will be remembered not only as a business owner but as someone who genuinely cared about her community and the people who called it home. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The Clay County Progress extends its heartfelt condolences to Wanda’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. Additional information will be shared if and when it becomes available and appropriate for release. Until then, we ask the community to keep her family in their thoughts and prayers and to respect their privacy as they grieve this profound loss.
We are going to do a candlelight vigil for Ms. Wanda at Parts City at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, June 13. We can bring flowers, photos, candles, letters if you’d like to leave one and our love and support! If you want to speak about Ms. Wanda you will be able to do that as well. Hope to see everyone there to show her family support during this time of need! We all loved her smile and heart and she will be missed so very much in our small community.
