One of the signs that summer has officially begun is the first Clay County Community Revitalization Association’s Friday Night Summer Concert Series. Friday, May 27 Wyatt Espalin and Friends will kick off the 22nd season of the series. Food service begins at 6 p.m. and the concert begins at 7 p.m. Wyatt is the first of eight concerts in the lineup this year.

Wyatt Espalin, a native of Hiawassee, Ga., has entertained guests since he was eight years old. An acclaimed songwriter, guitarist and fiddler, Wyatt’s “alternative folk” is sure to be entertaining. Visit: www.wyattespalinmusic.com.

Beer and wine will be available to purchase from Laughing Waters, a new business coming to the square. Nocturnal Brewing will have food available to purchase and the American Legion will be roasting their crowd favorite hot dogs as a fundraiser.

This year CCCRA is selling “Summer Concerts on the Square” T-shirts. Make sure you grab one of these unique shirts at the CCCRA table.

CCCRA’s Summer Concert Series is made possible through sponsorships from private individuals, businesses, organizations and from donations to the red buckets on concert nights. The dates for this year's concerts are Fridays, May 27, June 24, July 1, 22, Aug. 5, 19, September 2 and 9. Be sure to save the dates. To see the full concert list visit: www.cccra-nc.org.

Everyone is encouraged to bring friends and family, a lawn chair or blanket and come out to the square Friday night for good music, food and dancing.
