The renowned Song Writers Showcase returns for its 48th installment at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 29. This Showcase features three genre-blending singer-songwriters.
Abe Partridge, based in Mobile, Ala. made the transition from fundamentalist Baptist pastor to singer-songwriter and artist and finally found himself through art and music. He is one of a kind and a true character.
Gabe Lee, a Nashville native, blends country, folk and rock. With degrees in literature and journalism, storytelling has been an anchor of Lee’s music since the very beginning. He has quickly progressed from dive bar gigs to high-profile opening slots including shows with Jason Isbell and Los Lobos.
The final featured artist, Jacob Johnson has created his own brand of “highly caffeinated” acoustic guitar playing. This Greenville, S.C. resident has had the privilege of sharing the stage with Grammy winners like Tommy Emmanuel and Victor Wooten as well as esteemed musicians including Phil Keaggy, Marcus King and Tim Reynolds.
If you have not experienced this engaging event that has become a tradition at the Peacock, now is the time to check it out. Local favorite Rob Tiger hosts this platform for singer-songwriters to perform their own lyrical creations. It's singers telling stories – the best music you’ll hear this year.
If you want the best value in the mountains for an evening of quality entertainment, this is it.
