Friday brings Trick on Treating on the Square, costume contests, flash dance
Friday’s Trick or Treat on the Square on Oct. 31 will bring an abundance of clever costumes to Hayesville all worn by the young and the young at heart. The event is held 5-8 p.m. Set-up and booth decorating will be from 4-4:45 p.m. and businesses are encouraged to decorate your table which will be judged for the best decoration beginning at 5:15 p.m. Other events include costume contest at the gazebo on the courthouse lawn beginning at 5:30 p.m. for infant to 3 months old; 5:50 p.m., 4-9 years olds; 6:10, 10-17 year olds; and at 6:30 p.m. for 18 and older. At 7 p.m. there will be a short intermission while the ever popular flash mob performs. The costume contests resume at 7:20 p.m. with the group/ family contest and the finale is at 7:40 p.m. with the best all around costume. Participates are ask to arrive 5 minutes before their age category contest begins. The event was revived after a long hiatus by Sonja Silvers and is hosted by Sonja Silvers Realty.
