Historic courthouse gets spring spruce up

Clay County Communities Revitalization is cleaning and painting the soffits and fascias around the historic courthouse/Beal Center. The work is being done by Alwine Painting. The project was made possible by a state of NC Direct Legislative Grant for Capital Improvement. This project was a part of a larger project to upgrade and improve the Hayesville Town Hall, according to CCCRA representative Paul Price. "Since the Historic Courthouse is owned by the town and leased to CCCRA Mayor Benita England very generously allowed CCCRA to use a small part of the grant to complete a much needed refresh to the Beal Center. Many thanks to the mayor and council for including the Beal Center and Brad Alwine and his crew for an excellent job," Price said.
