From Sept. 6 until Jan. 31 of 2022, Clay County Detention Center Lieutenant Donovan Burke assumed command of the Detention Center. Burke worked tirelessly to keep the detention center operating efficiently and safely despite being staffed at 3/4th capacity.
Burke professionally managed the detention center through the transition period from one sheriff to a newly elected sheriff. He is a true professional, a credit to his profession and should be held as an example for all who work within that field.
On Tuesday, May 9 Burke was recognized by the Command Staff of the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and presented with a plaque of appreciation for the above-described service. Burke is a valued officer with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and rightly deserves this recognition.
