Lt. Bruce Moore was invited to speak to faculty and staff from the Clay County Schools regarding the recent training and planning the sheriff’s office has been working on during the summer.

Their mutual goal of creating the safest environment possible for the students, faculty and staff is our highest priority.

"There is no more precious or worthy cause than to protect our children" Moore said during the event.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office has worked hard with Rapid Deployment, SWAT Training, Stop the Bleed Training, CPR Training, Tactical Combat Casualty Care and Low Light Training already in 2024 with even more training planned.

Sheriff Mark Buchanan expressed thanks to their partners including Superintendent of Clay County Schools Melissa Godfrey, Clay County Emergency Manager Jeff Ledford, Southwestern Community College's Zach Dezarn, our Sheriff's Auxiliary members, the two students who participated in internships at the sheriff's office this summer and the tremendous support we have received from the citizens of Clay County who frequently encourage us in our efforts. We are looking forward to the upcoming school year.
